چکیده

Research subject. Garnets from silicate-carbonate formations and their halos with skarn mineral associations, developedin the historical mines pits of Southern Urals: Zelentsovskaya, Nikolaje-Maximilianovskaya, Akhmatovskaya,Perovskitovaya, Gubensky massif, Praskovie-Evgenyevskaya Shishimskaya. Aim. To study nature debatable origin. Materials methods. The composition garnets distributed both in rocks associations was analyzed using SEM-EDS (IPGG RAS) SIMS (Yaroslavl branch IPT RAS). Results. show predominantly a dark to black color, combination simple rhombododecahedron tetragontrioctahedron shapes. In terms composition, these materials correspond andradite – Ti-andradite, share shorlmite morimotoite end-members reaching 30 %. calcareous skarns are reddish color have rhombododecahedric habitus. an andradite-grossular isomorphic series, shorlomite morimotite not exceeding 3 For garnets, content trace rare-earth elements determined for first time, posi tive correlation Ti U, Y, Zr, Hf Nb established. Figurative points on binary diagrams (in coordinate axes content) plotted as trend garnet grossular–andradite–Ti-andradite series. rocks, unlike those characterized by increased content. main feature distribution spectra is positive Eu-anomaly, which observed all studied garnets. Conclusion. data obtained allowed authors assume that were formed result single geological process, essentially close formation. results petrographic-mineralogical geochemical studies “carbonatite” silicate-carbo nate Urals unlikely.

Geochemistry of Major, Trace, and Rare Earth Elements in Biglar Permo-Triassic Bauxite Deposit, Northwest of Abgarm, Ghazvin Province, Iran

Biglar Permo-Triassic bauxite deposit is located in ~15 km northwest of Abgarm, southwest of Ghazvin province, west of central Iran. It consists of 8 stratiform and discontinuous bauxite lenses lying along the contact of Ruteh (Permian) and Elika (Triassic) carbonate formations. Petrographically, the bauxite ores exhibit collomorphic-fluidal, pseudo-breccia, pseudo-porphyritic, panidio-morphic-...

Origin of the phonon Hall effect in rare-earth garnets.

The phonon Hall effect has been observed in the paramagnetic insulator Tb3Gd5O12. A magnetic field applied perpendicularly to a heat current induces a temperature gradient that is perpendicular to both the field and the current. We show that this effect is due to resonant skew scattering of phonons from the crystal field states of superstoichiometric Tb(3+) ions. This scattering originates from...

Carbonate Complexation of Yttrium and the Rare Earth Elements in Natural Waters

Potentiometric measurements of Yttrium and Rare Earth Element (YREE) complexation by carbonate and bicarbonate indicate that the quality of carbonate complexation constants previously obtained via solvent exchange analyses are superior to characterizations obtained using solubility and adsorptive exchange analyses. The results of our analyses at 25°C are combined with the results of previous so...

Migration of trace elements from pyrite tailings in carbonate soils.

In the carbonate soils contaminated by a toxic spill from a pyrite mine (Aznalcóllar, southern Spain), a study was made of a thin layer (thickness = 4 mm) of polluted soil located between the pyrite tailings and the underlying soil. This layer, reddish-yellow in color due to a high Fe content, formed when sulfates (from the oxidation of sulfides) infiltrated the soil, causing acidification (to ...
